Trick or Treat!
September 26, 2006 10:18 AM

Just a quick post!
I have been in such the Halloween spirit this year.  I made the Trick or treat collage and made little whimsy signs for some of my friends by accenting the collage with black glitter and orange crepe paper.  So far they are a big hit and I may add them to the shop.  I also ordered some small note card flats to add to the shop and they should be in over the weekend.  back in the 1800's and early 1900's people sent cards for all holidays, including Halloween, and I love that!

Tim Holtz & Chris Wood Inspire
September 17, 2006 09:27 AM

The past few days have been very busy.  The day job has been crazy, but I was also lucky enough to squeeze in some really wonderful things.  Last Thursday night I attended a retirement party for someone at the office, it was held at the Visionary Museum in Baltimore!  I had been really wanting to go there for months, so this was a great opportunity to see it.  It really is a neat place, although you can not take photos inside, so all I have to show you is this photo of the shinny pretty things displayed on a tree outside (as usual, click the photo to see it bigger at flickr).

On Saturday, I had the pleasure to take my first art class.  It was at The Queen's Ink in Savage Maryland (if you are close I HIGHLY recommend visiting this wonderful shop!), taught by Tim Holtz

I took a class called Charmed Possessions and it was wonderful.  Tim was wonderful - he was so nice and down to earth!  I brought him some goodies from my shop and he was thrilled and even plugged my Petite Bundles during the class!  It was really nice meeting a well know artist for the first time and having them be so great (I would love to hear about who you have meet that really was wonderful!)

Not to mention that The Queen's Ink carries Paper Relics' products - and even though it is in a lot of shops across the country, this is the first local shop for me and actually SEEING it all displayed was amazing!

After class I had to rush out to meet Mike for a date - he was taking me on a date to see The Wood Brothers perform (one of which, Chris, is the Wood in Medeski, Martin & Wood).  They were really great live, we had such a wonderful time.  Chris Wood does AMAZING things with his bass - he truly is incredible.  Even though my day was a whirlwind, it was so wonderful - filled with such inspiring artists and fun!

P.S. Don't forget to scroll down to hear about Paper Relics' new holiday cards!

September 7, 2006 03:16 PM

I promised projects and here are some of I am wrapping up.  Jes of Junque Revival and I have put our heads together to start creating pendants that feature prints of my collages!  they will be on sale in the upcoming month so keep your eyes peeled!

Also, I was working with the lovely Heather of Portals Zine on the Portals Zine website- she wanted something simple yet pretty so stop by and see what I came up with - and to see buying, advertising and submission options - I LOVE this zine and would love to see it supported as much as possible!  If you are interested in advertising with them - they close for the next issue this week so let them know!

Other wise it has been a busy busy week - the start of a busy busy 2 months for me!

Oh, and have you SEEN the new Orla Kiely fall line of bags?  I am drooling!
