Moleskine Confession
August 30, 2008 12:47 PM

Today I am going to make a confession... I am obessesed with Moleskine journals.

Ever since my dear friend Stacie of Bailey's Bliss sent me my first one a couple of years ago, I have been addicted. I have a large one I use as my journal, and a pocket one I keep with me to jot down notes. But my obsession does not stop there... I LOVE to alter them. The covers, and even more so, cutting windows in the covers and decroating them with old papers, photographs, pieces of lace and other goodies... I have more altered moleskins sitting in my studio empty then I could ever use, and I have no plans on stopping... I am already thinking I need to start working on another one. Crazy isn't it?! Luckily I always buy them at the bookstore with a coupon.

Oh, and did I mention that at the New York International Gift Show which I attened a couple weeks ago I saw COLORED moleskines (other than red, I saw pink and blue) at the Chronicle Books booth? Can not wait to see them out in stores!

Cake Love, Family & Creating
August 25, 2008 03:42 PM

My parents have been here visting and they go home today. It was a nice visit. I had a sample wedding cake sent from Wendy Kromer Confectons for us all to try... it was very good, we all enjoyed it and it was fun to have my mom here to try it with us. It was almond cake wtih buttercream filling and fondant topping (since it needs to be shipped, we had to have fondant on top).

My neice came to stay over one night, she is about 1 1/2 away in the city. It was fun seeing her in suburbia, she gets flustered. She is my closest age relative, 10 years younger than me. She kept asking if we could make something - she remembered when she was little that I used to have her help me make photo collages and magazine cut out collages. So, I grabbed a bunch of my collage sheets and a Coccoina glue stick and had her making collage cards. I ended up sending her home with some supplies so she could make more on her own.

I wish my parents were staying for another day or two, but otherwise it was a great visit

P.S. Speaking of collage sheets, I have just added a new one - Antique Ads!

Holy Moly! A Blog Post!
August 18, 2008 07:36 PM

Yep! Do not be alarmed, this is a real blog post. So sorry I have been gone so long!

But, look what I have been up to lately...

Art in Ashland - I got to attend some great art classes while visiting with my friend Kathleen (liquid sky arts), I had such a wonderful time. I loved the classes, and loved getting to spend time with Kath - I can not wait to go back!

Spending about a day a week at Amy's (inspire company) with her darling baby, and making things for my round of Inspired Friends.

New York City with Andrea (seeking velvet strawberries and everyday beatuty)- Lots of fun, and also got to meet up with my friend Leslie (the paper princess) and he wonderful family for cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery (yum!) On the way to New York, we stopped by my friend Nancy's Shop, Parcel... my second time in this dream world she has created. Here are my cards in her shop (mixed in with others):

and a quick snap of the marshmallow and candy kabobs she had awaiting our arrival (along with sparkling french lemonade):

And speaking of Andrea, we just finsihed putting together a new look for One Hundred Wishes. Stop by and take a peek!
