Happy Day & Regency Collection
November 22, 2007 02:46 PM

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
There are so many things I am thankful for these days... I am happier than I have ever been.
I hope that everyone takes a few moments today to think about what is great in their lives.  It is so easy these days to take the good things for granted and dwell on the bad... and today is a reminder to cherish the good and be thankful!

Anyway, I did want to share a new collection I have created.  You can always see the new on the What's New page - but this new collection is one of my favorites and I am so excited about it I thought I would share here.

Just finished a home page for the most wonderful shop - Paris to the Moon (which I first heard about through Pam Garrison).

Anyway, next week I will be adding a page of photos so you can take a peek inside the shop!

Visit it here - it looks MUCH better in person than in a screenshot!

Oh, and Halloween was fun!  Here are some photos - Tuala was a big hit with all the kids in the neighborhood when she greeted them at the door!

and who says only kids get treats...

And... I am so lucky to live near the talented Little Melfie... look what I stumbled upon when I was at her house last night...

All her goods that she will be selling at silver bella!  And her house is decorated so wonderfully
(and some great Halloween touches - look at those silly glasses her son put on the monkey lamp!)
Click here to see all the photos I snapped while there.

Thursday I am off to Silver Bella - will blog all about it upon my return.
Vendor night will be the FIRST time Paper Relics will be selling in person (yikes!)

Miss Duffy's

Cards & Tags for Miss Duffy's

I just finished revamping Miss Duffy's website.  She was looking for a clean, vintage style.  We actually had worked on business cards and tags for the shop first, and then carried that design over to the website, which is also good for brand recognition.

Miss Duffy is a dream to work with... and her shop has the most wonderful, wonderful treasures... be sure to stop by and visit her!

Projects, The Paper Princess & More
June 13, 2007 07:47 PM

I have been working with some WONDERFUL creative woman lately and wanted to share their shops and what I created for them with you.

As you may have heard, Andrea has announced her new shop that is coming very soon - One Hundred Wishes.  She had the logo already, and came to me to help her create a site, business cards and postcards.  It has been so fun working with her, she is the sweetest person and boy does she have some wonderful goodies in store for you guys!  And, I hope to be going to visit her next week!

Sara of Sadie Olive has the most wonderful shop - she needed a logo, business cards and postcards made.  She was so great to work with - have you been to her shop?  It is a must see!  Click here!

And have you meet Dottie Angel  (blog is here - shop is here) ?  Oh my, her slips and bags are little pieces of Heaven!  I fell in love with her style the moment I set eyes on her work.  I am lucky enough to own a bag of my own that she made - and I have to say that her photos do NOT do her pieces justice, I know they look wonderful, but the actual item is even more incredible!  Check here out here.

Other news - I got to meet a friend in person... Catherine Moore, of Character Constructions.  She taught at the Queen's Ink this past weekend and I took 3 of the 4 classes.  It was so much getting to meet her in person - she is so wonderful!

I am working on some new cards as well - so stay tuned and keep checking the What's New page!  And Little Melfie (have you seen the goodies in her new etsy shop yet??)  is coming over to play tomorrow - I will try and take some photos!

And my trip to LA... it was wonderful, I had so much fun hanging out with Leslie (of The Paper Princess)!  We visited a shop that carries Paper Relics cards... Paris to the Moon - oh it was WONDERFUL (as you can see in the photos below - click them to see them larger!)

Oh, I am will be attending Silver Bella in the fall - and I am really looking forward to it!  If you are going please leave me a comment or send me an email!

Little Melfie

And I \actually meet Little Melfie and doojies for lunch yesterday - and look at the goodies little melfie had for me - they are wonderful - I just adore her party hats and can not wait until her shop is stocked with them (I will keep you posted on that!)- the photos do not do justice, I am living in an apartment surrounded by packing boxes so the kitchen counter was my best choice to take photos!  Lia (Art junk girl) I meet a few weeks ago and will hopefully see again soon - I had so much fun with all these girls I need to get us ALL together soon!

And not to mention that I did a little swap with Jo of old flowers for me and my package from her arrived the same day - oh my did I get the better end of the deal - goodies galore!!  Thank you Jo I just adore everything you sent!!

Am I spoiled or what?

A New Look... Again!
August 6, 2006 09:38 PM

Paper Relics has a new look.  I find that I am constantly wanting to redo the site, or start another site... I get sick of the design easily and have to fiddle with it until it looks new and fresh, while keeping the logo and familiarity that has been established.

I recently redesigned the site for Sepia Art Studio, and I decided the best thing to do was to use her existing business card as a starting point.  Her card was beautifully put together by Wise-Rabbit and we were graciously given permission to use the card.  I strongly believe that establishing an image, logo, etc with your shop is essential.  Having an identity is the first thing one should think about when venturing out with a shop of their own.  I was at an antiques show a while back, visiting some friends who were selling their mixed media crafts, and a woman came up and saw my card sitting out on a table and she smiled and said "I keep stumbling upon Paper Relics recently!".  She recognized my logo and easily made the connection that each time Paper Relics came up, it was the same company.  This may seem obvious to most people, but the thing is.... when you love to create and go through new styles and techniques, it is hard to stick to it!

What I did - I kept Paper Relics in the same font it has always been, a font I made myself from Victorian era type, and I kept the girl with the hat that has been in my logo since the beginning.  But to add some creativity to it, I added in another font, I picked one that added some whimsy and softness against the bold font I was already using.  I also added some color with some wonder brushes that I think I got here.  I had fun redesigning some of the site, and it should hold me over for a month or two!
